Every home tells a story.
Follow along as we document our bathroom renovations using old-world methods, precision craftsmanship, and timeless design that fits seamlessly into the home, from concept to completion.
When we first entered this home built in the early 1900s, we knew that the bathroom we designed and built would need to fit with the home's history.
The two sloped walls and the tiny footprint of the space presented quite the challenge. The clawfoot tub was too large for the space and needed to be removed, and there was no existing plumbing in the wall for the shower. Add to that the sloped walls are exterior walls, so our solution: build a new wall to house the plumbing, and a knee wall to contain the mini tub.
Though we had to remove the clawfoot tub, we knew we wanted to preserve the historical look and feel of the space. We paired polished brass fixtures with the classic navy subway tile and white penny tile, finishing the shower edges and niche with beautiful trim tile.
